Karina Krokaa (b. 1988) is a Norwegian musician, playing the cello since she was seven years old, and later also piano, guitar and oboe. At the Norwegian Academy of Music, she has studied composition with Olav Anton Thommessen, Bjørn Kruse and Lasse Thoresen and cello with Geir Tore Larsen–besides studies in marketing and photography.
Karina is an active literary writer, and often composes “soundtracks” to her own stories. Recently she has also written and composed songs and arrangements, made studio recordings of her own and others’ music and performed in a cello quartet. Her instrumental music is often melancholic, influenced by romantic composers such as Schubert and Sibelius.
